CLEENISH AND MULLAGHDUN MOTHERS' UNION
THEME FOR 2024 - TRANSFORMATION - NOW
THEME FOR 2024 - TRANSFORMATION - NOW
Mothers' Union is an international Christian charity that seeks to support families of all faiths and none through practical outreach, prayer and advocating family friendly policies within both government and public life. By supporting marriage and family life, especially through times of adversity, we tackle the most urgent needs challenging relationships and communities.
Our members are not all mothers, or even all women, but are single, married, parents, grandparents or young adults who are just beginning to express their social conscience. For all 4.1 million members in 81 countries what Mothers' Union provides is a network through which they can serve Christ in their own community through prayer, financial support and actively working at grass roots level in programmes that meet local needs
April Prayer
We celebrate abundant life with full and thankful hearts.
We give thanks for the imprint of heaven
which enhances our life in the here and now.
May our appreciation of all we enjoy
bring praise to our bountiful God Amen
Reflection
Life can be hard, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed, struggling with everyday living.
Our hearts ache at the sadness in the world.
In these moments it's good to remember that we are not on our own, but that Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, praying for us. Christ died, but rose again, opening the way for us to enoy abundant life; not only in our heavenly future, but here and now on earth.
So let's revel in that which brings us joy, whether a beautiful sunset, coffee with a friend or a precious answer to prayer.
April Meeting - Mullaghdun Parish Hall - 16th April 8pm
"New Recipes" by Mrs Heather Kettyles
A word from Margaret Crawford....
There was a good representation at our meeting on 21st March when we had speakers from the PSNI who spoke on ‘Policing in the Community’.
Just today we received an invitation from Letterbreen MWI to their Visitors evening on Thursday 11th April at 8.00pm when the speaker will be Kamryn McQuaid demonstrating Cake Decorating.
Can I remind you also of the 120th Anniversary Service of Clogher Cathedral MU on Sunday 14th April at 3.30 pm – everyone welcome.
Our own meeting on 16th April will be a cookery demonstration by Heather Kettyles, who is a senior teacher in ERGS (disregard the MU Notice in April Diocesan Magazine!!!)
Can I also remind Members that the Overseas Money, which is handed over at the Diocesan Service at beginning of May, will need to be given to the Treasurers at next meeting.
Any queries just give me a call
